Herzlichen Glückwunsch

Well, I am another year older. I wouldn't say wiser, but at least more experienced. It is exciting to be really into my 20s now. I have always heard that the 20s are an exciting time in everyone's lives, so I look forward to the rest of mine, but can say that so far, the 20s have been great. So exciting but scary, I am by ALL standards, officially an adult!

So picture time. Just remember, the camera adds....50 pounds...First of all, we went to Sankt Peter Ording on Saturday. It's the beach on the North Sea. It's a super cute little tourist trap up here, and we went there for the day and it was a lot of fun. Granted, I saw lots of boobies and other things that made me uncomfortable...but other than that, a fun day. So these are there.

Last week when I got to church one of the ladies in my ward gave flowers and told me that she thought it was my birthday. Then this sunday she forgot it was my birthday until later! She's so awesome. I love Sister Hachmann. So these are the flowers she gave me!
I just really liked this flower. I have never seen it before.

So on Sunday, after church we had a get together at our house and we had Grandma and Grandpa Schumaier over, Donna, Dirk's brother's daughter who is the blond girl in all these photos, and Dagmar's brother Christoff and his family, which includes Anika and Levke. Anika is the other single adult in our ward and Levke is her daugther. Anika is a lot of fun and we get along really well. So here is our little party. The weather was perfect. Sunny and warm, just a little windy. Perfect!

Presents!!!

From Grandma and Grandpa Schumaier!

From Majlie. She painted it herself!

Majlie wanted a picture of the wrapping because it had naked babies on it...yeah... I am in Germany...
The Rainbow Fish book Gabi got for me to read and color with my kids someday. Sweet!
We took a short recess upstairs in my room and the girls danced to Michelle's card she sent me with the dancing hamster song. They loved it!

Levke is just super cute so I had some fun taking pictures of her!

My beautiful and amazingly delicious cake....mmm.....

So that was the party. There are a few gifts not in these pictures. So I got candles from both Anika and Donna. And I got candy from Mimi (which I am pretty sure she was just counting on me putting in my thing for them upstairs!) And then from Dirk and Dagmar I got a really cool calendar of the area here in northern Germany for 2009 so I can remember my time here when I am home next year. So here it is:
So my favorite gift was also from them. They got me exactly what I asked for. A compilation of the Fairytales from the Brothers Grimm. It is beautiful and it is awesome. So this is it, including pictures from some of the fairytales included.

Cinderella

Sleeping Beauty

Little Red Riding Hood

Snow White

Hänsel and Gretel

There are a lot of other stories that we don't know of including this one about a donkey that poops gold....pretty dang awesome. So it is beautiful and amazing.

I also got a package from my beautiful best friend Michelle containing lots of cute things and delicious things that I cannot get here including things like Oreos and Beef Jerkey...we all know how much I enjoyed eating those...and a cd of Jack Johnson and Matt Costa which I LOVE!! And my mommy threw in some Mac and Cheese and my three seasons of Arrested Developement...which I shouldn't even have to comment on since you all know how extremely passionate I am about those two things. So all in all, it was a wonderful birthday. I must say, it beat out last years by a long shot! So thank you all for the birthday wishes, the cards and the gifts sent. It was wunderbar!

This is my blog for my time in Germany. I thought this would be a good way for people to see what's going on while I'm there.
