Warum du hast gewartet!

Well, I've been asked to post again, and now I finally have time! Yay! Pretty much the most of these first few weeks I've spent getting to know Heide, how to get from place to place on my own, and just getting to know and understand the daily routine. I'm finally getting the hang of it. It's not so hard. And I'm really getting to know the family and love them. They are really wonderful. Now I'm hoping to get into my own little routine more. I am looking forward to institute. I think that will be a great opportunity. So there are a lot of things yet to come. But here are some more pictures, as promised, and I'll explain.
We finally found Noah's Ark!All day they collected sea shells because they didn't want me to not have any. So they came home with tons of sea shells for me! It was sweet!

Ok, so all of these are of the other day when we went to the East Sea. So now I've been to the North and East Seas. There were people flying kites everywhere!

They kept playing like they were blind and they would lead each other. It's not very often they get along so I had to take advantage of the moment.

This is what it looks like after months of being part of the sea. In the summer. All of the land that is in these pictures is under water. Hence the really tall stilts. This is really deep into the water bed then.

So this is for you mom. This is basically a tour of our house with photos. So I start with the view from my window looking out. The other window is straight into the neighbors window so I never open the blinds and it's kind of creepy. This one however has a really nice view.

The hallway as you exit my room. Oh yeah, this is the contraption I use to dry my clothes. Actually, just the clothes I don't want to put in the dryer. Don't worry. We have a dryer.

This is my closet down the hall. Not much. But I don't need much.

This room will eventually be a spa. That's right. A SPA. Right now, it's a really cold storage room.
First the stairs, and then the view from the stairs. The door inside the archway is my bathroom. The other door is the front door. Only the post man uses that door.
This is the view from the landing off of the stairs. To the left, the kitchen. Straight ahead, the living room. To the right, the family living quarters.
The kitchen. Yes, that is as big as a European fridge gets. No joke.
I hope you know what that is. That's right, you guessed it. That's the family stash of carbonated water. One thing I will never understand Europeans for and why I have a bunch of 2 Liters of real water hidden in my bedroom....
The door we use to get into the house and where I do my laundry.

The living room.

Part of the living room. This is the dining room. Only used when guests come. Which only happens on Sundays. And not very often. Really, we never use it. But I still have to clean it!

This way to the family living quarters but I won't disturb them...

This is the car I drive. A Toyota Corolla. It works technically. It's having some troubles so we might get a new one in the summer....what will it be???? Probably not as nice as Dirks pimped out Audi....

Well, I hope you all enjoyed your tour. Especially since it took me for freakin ever. I'm tired so I'm off to bed. Gute nacht!

Ich bin da!

So I'm officially here in Deutschland! Exciting stuff! The plane ride was uneventful which is always good and I made it safely there! I did lose one piece of luggage and I just got it today which means it was 4 days without it. Interesting but not too bad. Now I'm all here and everything is wonderful! I'm sure you can tell but every day my English gets worse as my German gets better....oops! But I'll take what I can get! I need to be able to communicate while I'm here so that sounds good to me! The land is beautiful and completely green, even in the dead of winter as it is! I did ride on the autobahn as one of my first experiences, which was scary but now, everthing is good. I'm not so scared. The driving is always fast here! The family is wonderful! The girls are amaying and hilarious and the parents are way nice and treat me like family. The German is slow in coming so I can't always communicate with the girls like I'd like but I've only been here for 4 days and I can tell it's already getting better! But believe you me, as my German gets better, my English will continue to get worse! But then again, I never could spell...ok, picture time.

The pictures with water are of the North sea. We went on Sunday and it was just a gorgeous day! Sunny and not too much wind. Perfect! Majlie can ride a unicycle...awesome...

There are windmills everywhere.
These are of my room. It's small but I like it. It's perfect for this situation. It's the biggest room I've had but all of my stuff has to stay in there.....oh well!

These are of Mimi's party. We went and danced and had a whole bunch of fun. That was my first day. It was a dress up party so they all got to dress up in costumes and dance. She went as Schneewittchen (Snow White). It was a lot of fun!

These are of a landmark in the German country side. Pretty neat. In it's history, it was used for wedding ceremonies so the girls acted it out. It was very cute. We had a lot of fun! Then Dirk and I proceeded to run to the car and drive away and the girls ran and giggled as the ran to the car. We had a good time. (We did stop and let them in by the way....)

Just GORGEOUS countryside. It's beautiful. And my camera is awesome and takes amazing pictures. I love it! And this is a German farm house. A little different from American ones....

This is my blog for my time in Germany. I thought this would be a good way for people to see what's going on while I'm there.
